Freeverse’s mission is to bring next generation NFT technology to the metaverse. Our technology platform allows our clients to build their products with ‘Living Asset’ NFTs – digital assets that can evolve and change based on how they are used, so that their value is determined by their utility, as opposed to speculation on their rarity.

As our Chief People Officer, you will be bringing Freeverse into its next stage of growth and will play a pivotal role in defining our People strategy and company culture. Your goal will be to strengthen Freeverse’s position as an amazing place to work, both for current and future employees.

You will drive all people-centered activities including hiring, training, compensation, employment relations, diversity, professional development, performance management and office happiness to ensure these efforts support the company’s growth and bottom line.

What you'll do

  • Design all strategy and practices related to People, as well as present any proposals for changes to the management team and oversee implementation.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the People department and develop HR policies for local and international offices.
  • Plan, develop and monitor the annual People budget.
  • Communicate frequently with key stakeholders to understand the unique needs of our employees and teams.
  • Ensure employee safety, welfare, wellness and health and drive initiatives that improve employee happiness and well-being.
  • Ensure all employees adhere to current employment laws and regulations and regularly update the management team on relevant and important changes.
  • Define the company wage and salary structure, pay policies, and oversee the variable pay systems within the company including bonuses and raises.
  • Lead competitive market research to establish pay practices and pay bands that help to recruit and retain top employees.
  • Design the hiring plan and craft talent acquisition strategies to build strong pipelines for current and future hiring needs and lead employer branding efforts.
  • Develop strategy around career development and training and evaluate associated activities.
  • Oversee employee engagement surveys and lead actions to improve employee retention and engagement.
  • Promote diversity inclusion in the workplace and reinforce our position as an equal opportunity employer.

Job requirements

  • You demonstrate proven work experience and results as a Chief People/HR Officer, VP of HR or similar role, ideally in a start-up or scale-up context.
  • BSc/MSc in Human Resources Management, Business, Organizational Psychology or other relevant field.
  • You are a solutions-oriented change leader, capable of influencing others and developing and aligning the people strategy with the business strategy.
  • You are data-driven and provide facts when you present your arguments and conclusions.
  • You bring in-depth knowledge of all HR functions and operations (L & D, Talent Acquisition, Comp & Ben, Employment Relations, etc.).
  • You are a strategic storyteller and know how to define and reinforce the company culture through all People initiatives and communication.
  • You deal easily and comfortably with all levels of the organisation. You have outstanding interpersonal skills, coaching and listening skills and are able to develop strong, trusting relationships within the department and organisation.
  • You thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where change is part of your day-to-day.
  • Your sharp decision-making skills set you apart from others and you have the ability to remain objective, discrete and exercise common sense at all times.
  • You have hands-on experience with HR software (HRIS, ATS) and knowledge of new HR tools and metrics.
  • You bring a solid understanding of labour legislation and employment law.
  • You are fluent in English

Not mandatory, but valued as a plus:

  • You have any additional HR certification, eg. CIPD, PHR, SPHR, etc.
  • You speak Spanish.
